Current Activity:
Reauthorization of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) is now under consideration in the U.S. Senate.
On June 12, the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions held a hearing on this important workplace issue, demonstrating that senators are actively seeking solutions to address workforce development challenges. Bipartisan support continues to grow in Congress for WIOA reauthorization.
To advocate for the reauthorization of WIOA, which is key to building a competitive, skills-based workforce, visit SHRM’s Advocacy Action Center (https://www.shrm.org/advocacy/take-action) or text WIOA to 52886 and complete the form.
Telehealth Expansion Act of 2023 (H.R. 1843/S. 1001).
The proposed legislation would ensure that employers retain a valuable benefit that helps bridge the gap in access to care and protects employees from losing pre-deductible flexible coverage.
This legislation’s permanent extension of pre-deductible coverage for high-deductible health plans, which is currently scheduled to expire on Dec. 31, would provide employers flexibility and help ensure that their employees have access to critical health care.
Take action through the SHRM Advocacy Action Center or by texting CARE to 52886 and follow the prompts.
