Each year, Americans recognize Giving Tuesday as an annual celebration of generosity. Giving Tuesday takes place immediately following Thanksgiving when we take time to show our gratitude and reflect on the blessings in our lives. This year, Giving Tuesday is December 3rd. What was created as a simple idea – a day that encourages people to do good – has grown into a movement and it serves as a reminder of the good we can all do in our own communities and for the causes we find important. In this spirit of generosity and in conjunction with this year’s Giving Tuesday, HR Virginia is holding a 50/50 drawing to benefit the SHRM Foundation. Participants can win up to $300!
The SHRM Foundation is the 501(c)(3) philanthropic arm of SHRM (Society for Human Resources Management) and mobilizes the power of HR for positive social change in the workplace. Its robust resources, meaningful partnerships, and evidence-based programming educate and empower HR professionals to hire diverse talent, build inclusive workplaces, prioritize workplace mental health and wellness, develop, and support the next generation of HR professionals, and help employees find purpose at work and beyond. Their scholarships have been awarded to HR professionals in our chapters and can be used for education, certification preparation, and conference attendance.
The 50/50 & conference raffle will go live on Monday, December 2nd and the drawing will occur after 8:00am on December 5th. We also have an option to donate directly to the SHRM Foundation. Ticket prices are below; the more you buy, the cheaper they are:
- 1 for $1
- 11 for $10
- 23 for $20
- 48 for $40
- 63 for $60
