HR Virginia was proud to support the annual Student Case Competition in April 2023. Held in Richmond, the Case Competition included four teams from Liberty University, Bridgewater College, and Old Dominion University.
Liberty University Team 1 took home 1st place with their presentation about HR Analytics, and Old Dominion University’s team was awarded 2nd place in the competition for their presentation, titled Corporate Social Responsibility and the Overturning of Roe v. Wade.
In addition, judges heard presentations from Bridgewater College and Liberty University Team 2 about the following topics:
- Artificial Intelligence and Its Impact on HR
- Quiet Quitting
HR Virginia has been a proud supporter of student SHRM chapters for over 20 years, and a team of volunteer HR professionals graciously volunteer their time each year to judge the case competition. The Student Case Competition is a great opportunity for future HR professionals to practice using the knowledge they have gained in college, by working through real-life HR scenarios and examining viable solutions. It is also a great way for students to network with acting HR professionals and to showcase the skills they have learned.
HR Virginia is always looking for local professionals to guide and mentor our future and emerging HR professionals. If you are interested in connecting with student SHRM chapters near you, please reach out to collegerelations@hrvirginia.org for more information.
