We are back for the HR Virginia 2023 Annual Conference April 23-26 in Richmond, Virginia at the Greater Richmond Convention Center! Don’t miss your opportunity to Recharge, Refresh, and Re-engage with HR professionals from the Commonwealth, D.C. and beyond!
This in-person conference is an opportunity for our community to celebrate our contributions and become inspired by and participate in where we are going. It will allow us to embrace future possibilities for improving ourselves and building relationships in the world of work.
If the last few years have taught us anything, it’s that we need to Recharge, Refresh and Re-engage. We need to Recharge as human resource professionals, focusing on our mental and physical health as well as those we support. HR professionals need to Refresh to stay relevant in the ever-changing work environment and be more creative to recruit and keep the talent that drives organizational business goals. Lastly, HR must Re-engage to steward a culture of respect and equity at all levels while delivering the business strategy, driving workforce performance and engagement, and enhancing the experience for everyone. This conference is sure to provide you with the tools to do just that.
We have an amazing keynote line up this year:
- April Simpkins will kick off the conference with an engaging presentation about mental health in the workplace. April is an HR Consultant and Chief Human Resources Officer for Totalhr, a human resources services firm focused on supporting the HR needs of small- to mid-sized businesses. With more than 30 years of executive-level HR experience, April brings a wealth of knowledge.
- We’ll hear from Democratic Strategist Marie Harf, who has been an on-air Analyst at Fox News since 2017, having previously served as Senior Communications Advisor and State Department Deputy Spokesperson under Secretary of State John Kerry, and who also ran national security and foreign policy issues for Barack Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign. Marie will share her expert tips and tricks about how to talk with and understand people with whom you disagree.
- Paul Artale, motivational storyteller, author, and organizational culture researcher will share his recommendations for beating burnout with the Two-Year Old’s Guide to Work/Life Balance. Paul is known for his high energy and for using stories to create highly impactful and entertaining messages filled with actionable takeaways leaders can use to create high performance cultures in their own organizations.
- Diane Allen will close us out with her strategy to help us unlock our flow and increase the amount of time we spend in the part of our mind that makes us tick. A violinist by training, Diane learned that the key to her success on stage was her ability to get into a state of mind where she was immersed in her music. Through practice, she learned this strategy can be incredibly successful for leaders in all industries.
In addition to these keynote sessions, we are finalizing an incredible selection of concurrent sessions, and attendees can look forward to the opportunity to secure up to 19 SHRM and HRCI recertification credits. In addition, our always-popular Sponsor Marketplace will be bustling with activity and vendors who can help you with your HR needs. The Marketplace always offers a fun and engaging networking opportunity, and this year is no exception. For those who enjoy a little friendly competition, Cigna will once again sponsor a Monday evening networking event at Top Golf.
We are so excited about this quickly approaching event to help HR professionals Recharge, Refresh, and Re-Engage and we hope you’ll join us in April in Richmond!
